ALCOFLOW® 880 is one of a new series of innovative hybrid scale inhibitor products that addresses concerns regarding limited biodegradation of synthetic polymers.  This patent pending technology, developed by Nouryon Surface Chemistry, is a marriage of natural and synthetic elements combined together in one hybrid polymer molecule. ALCOFLOW® 880 is specifically designed to tackle Calcium Carbonate scales.    This polymer has excellent biodegradation at >40% according to OECD 306 and is suitable for use in environmentally sensitive locations. Hybridization also enhances electrolyte stability and can be used in brines in which many synthetic polymers would be expected to precipitate. Of all the hybrid technologies, the brine stability of ALCOFLOW® 880 is outstanding in this regard.
