Nouryon (formerly AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals) has started production of Butanox, one of its methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) product lines, at its site in Pasadena, Texas, providing a local supply source and enabling a better service for customers in the North American market.

We have received multiple awards from the Texas Chemical Council (TCC) and Association of Chemical Industry of Texas (ACIT) recognizing the company’s manufacturing facilities for continuous improvement in safety, emergency response, security, and environmental stewardship in 2021.

Nouryon has opened a new integrated services office for its North America business in Houston. The company has three major chemical production sites and employs nearly 700 people in the Houston area.

Nouryon (formerly AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals) will double production capacity for solvent-based organic peroxides at its Los Reyes, Mexico site, enabling it to support the strong growth of the North American polyolefin and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) markets. The expansion is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2020.

Nouryon has won 14 awards from the American Chemistry Council (ACC) in recognition of its commitment to keeping employee health and safety at the forefront of its operations. Twelve of the awards were for Excellence and two were Honor Responsible Care® Facility Safety Awards.
